Vic asks Jay to come to the back of the plane with her to meet with Detective Bodaway. The interior design of the plane is four rows, two seats per row, one seat on each side of the plane allowing for a small walkway between them. The cool thing is that the seats swivel, so they can all face forward, or two seats on the same row can turn 90° to face each other, or they can turn 180° forming a seating area of four front-to-front. Detective Bodaway is in the back row with an empty row in front of him, gee, with his delightful attitude, she wonders why. But his seating choice allows them to form a seating area facing one another.

“Okay, we may have gotten off on the wrong foot. I’m Vic MacGillivray and this is my younger sister, Jay. We’re Blood Sages and we’ve been requested to investigate odd inclinations or impulses some Psycepts have been experiencing in Council Bluffs. The request came a few weeks ago and wasn’t marked as urgent, so my other sister, Libby, and I were going to come in a couple weeks, after next month’s Shindig. However, yesterday, a PreCog named Tommie Graham indicated the matter should be handled sooner than that, so here we all are. What brings you to join us today, Detective Bodaway?”

“I’m assuming Tommie Graham is related to Gray Graham? Well that explains it. I must’ve ticked her off a few weeks ago with how I handled a case so now she’s out to get me. First up, I was called this morning and told to report to the airport in an hour to serve as escort to two Psycepts going to Council Bluffs, but that is all the information I was given. I’m supposed to have a report to read sometime this evening. So, you know more than I do.”

“Oh, Detective Bodaway, I doubt Gray has the power to assign you as escort. If Gray doesn’t like you, then you just won’t work with her, not a big deal. She wouldn’t send you somewhere as punishment, it’s too petty. Plus, she views us as her younger siblings so she would never send someone to watch out for us that she doesn’t think can handle it. Not that she even could send you. Now that we know you don’t have any information, we’ll share what we have. And honestly, I’m only a year younger than Vic. I think she emphasizes it because of our older siblings. Ignore her.”

“Thanks Jay. Well, she’s right that we need to share. As we’re guests on SoPlains, we’re required to stop by the Council Bluffs Psycept Police first before we meet with any of the petitioners. I don’t know who the contact is, you’ll probably find out before I do. I do know we won’t meet with the police until tomorrow morning. Then after meeting the police, we’ll see the Psycept petitioners that requested our presence. As Gray had priorly arranged this flight to Council Bluffs for her business, we’re hitching a ride with her employees to save fuel cost. Thus, we’re arriving a little earlier than Council Bluffs police can accommodate. That’s probably why your report is delayed and as for the late notice, it took half the day to pull everything together.

“In addition, I don’t know if you know this, but we’ll be staying with Gray’s siblings while you’re at the hotel room. You’ll also get the vehicle while we’re there. Tommie and Kai, her brother, will be meeting us at the airport then taking us to an early dinner. We’ll probably be bored listening to Tommie, Dani, and Dio talk about work stuff, so we’ll talk more about what we know of the original Psycept request at dinner. Sound reasonable?” See, Vic can be a bigger person.

“Yes, thank you. And I, too, apologize, Vic. I shouldn’t have taken my frustration about the short notice out on you. I’m sure you’ll come up with something more annoying while we’re there.” Jerk. He’ll be lucky if she doesn’t push him into a lake, or a snowdrift if one finally arrives during the unseasonably warm winter weather.
